Taapsee Pannu has been enjoying the attention that she’s been grabbing since last year after the portrayal of Rumi Bagga in Anurag Kashyap’s love drama, Manmarziyaan. Post that Badla turned out great, and her performance was critically acclaimed in Gameover too. The latest is that the actress has been approached for India’s first female horse jockey, Rupa Singh’s biopic.
A recent report by Pinkvilla confirms the same as, “Taapsee has been approached by her Naam Shabana director, Shivam Nair, for a movie he’s been planning for sometime. It’s based on the life of India’s first female horse jockey Rupa Singh. Shivam has got the rights to her life and is currently working on the script. He has bounced the idea off to Taapsee who has shown interest. But a bound script is yet to be locked and a narration is pending. But it’s an inspirational story about a woman in a profession that’s hugely considered a man’s world. Similarly, Taapsee has also maintained her dignity and power in a rather patriarchial set up that we have in the industry. So she completely suits the bill.”
If Taapsee gives her nod, the project will most likely go on-floors next year.

Meanwhile, the actress has also recently revealed that she’s interested in the Mithali Raj Biopic. “If I will get that film then it will be a lot of fun by playing cricket in it. If someone amongst you (media) know makers of that film then, please recommend my name to them because I really wanted to get signed for that film (laughs),” she said during a media interaction.
Now, it will be interesting to see which is it that the actress picks for herself, because we doubt if the both will be possible!
