Bollywood’s megastar Amitabh Bachchan has come ahead in support of recent Assam flood victims which caused a lot of devastation. Big B has donated 51 lakhs to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Sarbananda Sonowal, Chief Minister of Assam took to Twitter and thanked Amitabh for his kind gesture. His tweet read as saying, “We appreciate Shri Amitabh Bachchan ji for contributing Rs. 51 lakh to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. This is a great gesture & show of care for the people. Thank you, on behalf of the people of Assam, for your support. @SrBachchan”
Amitabh himself quoted his tweet and appealed his followers to contribute too while Assam is in distress. He wrote, “Assam is in distress .. the floods have caused great damage .. send care and assistance for our brothers and sisters .. contribute generously to the CM Relief Fund .. I just did .. HAVE YOU ..? ???”
Earlier Akshay Kumar had donated an amount of Rs 2 crores for Assam flood relief.
Must say, Bollywood stars are really making us proud off-screen as well.
