Akshay Kumar Shoots For An Additional Song For ‘Airlift’

The Khiladi of Bollywood Akshay Kumar recently shot for an additional song on Sunday for his upcoming drama flick ‘Airlift‘. This song was shot at a supplementary shooting schedule. Akshay Kumar who never breaks his rule to take Sunday off for his family, made an exception for this shoot.

‘Airlift‘ is based on the evacuation of Indians from Kuwait after the invasion of Saddam Hussain in 1990. It is a film where songs don’t fit due to its thrilling and dramatic plot.

Director Raja Krishna Menon says that it’s a number where after the crisis, the character of Akshay Kumar retrospects on earlier happier days. They shot it not as an after-thought but because it fits into the plot. It’s a tense film but there are songs and they don’t bring the film’s tension.

‘Airlift‘ also stars Nimrat Kaur in key role. The film is slated to release on 22nd January 2016. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Nikhil Advani.
