Aamir Khan to campaign against addiction

The Maharashtra  Government has officially asked actor Aamir Khan to be the brand ambassador for the social initiative of de-addiction.  However sources say that the actor has not yet responded to this lucrative offer by the government, but they also suggest that the actor would probably join the cause. It is learnt that the Minister of Social Justice of Maharashtra Shivajirao Moghe is keen to approach other celebrities too, to join the campaign.

The state is planning to hold a literary meet to kick-start the campaign of de-addiction, in Pune on  2^nd October 2012.  Various literary figures, artists and key people in the literature field are said to attend this meet.  They are also planning to create awareness amongst the masses through means of literature, plays, speeches, articles, campaigns etc on the ill effects of addiction.

Well known social worker Sindhutai Sapkal is said to have joined the campaign.  Sindhutai has worked effortlessly towards rehabilitating women and children who are victims of domestic abuse stemmed from liquor and other addiction and vices.
