After reigning Bollywood every Eid, Salman Khan has sadly denied his fans the loving Eidi this year. With blockbuster releases every year since 2009, Salman’s 2013 release  Mental cannot be wrapped by Eid. Salman owes a large part of his humongous success to the perfect festive timing of Eid which has never failed to give him oodles of appreciation and revenue back.

With his first release-less Eid in 4 years, brother Arbaaz Khan affirms that there is nothing to ‘fret about it’. With a repertoire of dates to choose from, it is needless to hastily finish Mental just to live up to the Eid release trend.

Arbaaz boasted that ‘A Salman Khan starrer will always be a Salman Khan starrer’, be it Eid or some other festive occasion. He added, “I am presuming that fans would have liked to release Mental on Eid. It’s not that they have not thought about it, but the practicality of coming on Eid may have been an issue. For his (Salman’s) film to come on Eid, he should have started as early as January. But they started sometime in March. So it became difficult. There is no need to do a rush job on any film. The stakes are too high, the expectations are too high. You may miss one day in a year, but there is at least four or five dates which are equally exciting. So you can pick and choose those dates and make that into an event.”

While Salman Khan is busily shooting for Mental, which is being directed by his brother Sohail Khan, Eid this year has been booked by Shah Rukh Khan-Rohit Shetty for their film Chennai Express and Akshay Kumar-Imran Khan for Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai Again.
