A.R. Rahman, one of India’s best known music composers, will be performing live in Bombay on April 24 and 25, before starting on a series of global concerts. The Bombay performances include the music release of Mani Ratnam’s Raavan, and the IPL grand finale.
These will be Rahman’s first two live performances in Bombay after his Oscar win. Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan are expected to be back from New York, where they are celebrating their marriage anniversary, specially for the Rahman concert on April 24 as they are the leading stars of Raavan.
Rahman will then get into preparations for his ‘Jai Ho Concert: The Journey Home World Tour’, which kicks off on June 11 at the Nassau Coliseum in New York. It will span 16 major cities worldwide. For the tour, Rahman is collaborating with creative director Amy Tinkman, who has worked to create concerts for Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys and Mariah Carey. The tour will not only feature Rahman’s music, but also dance arrangements and acrobatics inspired by India.
