Singh Is Bliing starring Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta and Amy Jackson in key roles is all set to release next week. The Prabhudheva film is expected to be a ‘masaaledaar’ entertainer and well it seems to have a colorful soundtrack too. Let’s find out what Singh Is Bliing album has to offer us.
Tung Tung Baje – Singh Is Bliing Music Review
Tung Tung Baje was first introduced to us by composer Sneha Khanvalkar in her TV show Sound Trippin where she composed songs by travelling around places working with the local citizens. This song was recorded in Punjab with a powerful female voice. Revamping it for the film, this version has been sung by Diljit Dosanjh, Jyoti Noora and Sultan Noora. Unfortunately, it does not get us the same energy as the original one. The typical Punjabi track lacks the intense vocals required to make it a upbeat, dance number.
Singh & Kaur – Singh Is Bliing Music Review
Singh & Kaur is a Punjabi hip-hop track. The beats are high and Raftaar does the rap portions for the song while Manj Musik and Nindy Kaur croon the track. Not a very impressive number as it seems quite repetitive. The song becomes quite irritating in the first hear itself. It is one of those songs that could be heard on radio but won’t make its way to your playlist.
Singh & Kaur also has a remix version which has a few added beats. The version is a Desi mix with ‘dhol’ beats as well. The original song is better than this remix version.
Aaja Mahi – Singh Is Bliing Music Review
There are three versions to this song in the album. The original song was composed by RDB which released years back and almost everyone has danced on this song in clubs. It seems composing new tracks was asking for too much and hence we hear this song revamped in three different versions.
The unplugged version has been sung by Arijit Singh and other than the guitar portions, there is nothing good in it. It sounds like listening a rock song in the form of a lullaby. You cannot come up with an unplugged number of a clubbing track that has been heard for decades.
One version is almost close to the original song and that is the only one you will enjoy. The beats are bang on and the rap portions too work perfectly.
The third version is a club mix that has an EDM flavor. It is not as good as the earlier version since trance beats don’t blend well. The problem with this version is that it remains quite stable all through with little variations and hence it fails to lift your spirits.
Cinema Dekhe Mamma – Singh Is Bliing Music Review
Cinema Dekhe Mamma comes with a lot of musical variations but they are not well blended. Even the singing seems unkempt as Shaan, Wajid and Ritu Pathak croon it. Shaan’s portions seem like an another song altogether. The lyrics are extremely irritating and meaningless. I would love to avoid listening to this song while watching the film too.
Dil Kare Chu Che – Singh Is Bliing Music Review
The beats for the entire album seem to be the same. When Dil Kare Chu Che begins, you are confused if the earlier song has even ended. The female portions in this song are English for Amy’s character and the rest of the song is Punjabi. It is awfully boring and you won’t even feel like listening to the entire song at once.
The Last Word – Singh Is Bliing Music Review
The Singh Is Bliing album comes as a huge disappointment. There are two problems, the lack of originality as the revamped tracks don’t work well and the other is it does not move beyond the Punjabi nature. I am going with a 2/5 for this album.
