Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbaai Dobaara opened well at approximately 1300 screen the film claimed for itself fighting against the magnanimous Eid release of Shah Rukh Khan namely Chennai Express. OUATIMD obviously opened well with a great occupancy at the domestic box office.
It recorded more than 90% occupancy in Delhi and U.P circuit, and fared in the same range in Pune, Mumbai and Hyderabad. However, in North India the film managed limited screens and in Rajasthan the producers’ tiff with cinema owners didn’t help as well. Akshay Kumar’s star power, Milan Luthria’s direction and mostly a Balaji franchise always has great expectations pining on it and hence the good opening isn’t a surprise.
However, the word of the mouth and reviews of the film aren’t overtly good. Hence, the film can be expected to have a hindrance in its growth over the weekend as it is pitted against Shah Rukh Khan and Rohit Shetty’s venture which is faring well at the box office!
