And here we are with another big-ticket release of the week with Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat. Starring Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt in main roles, the movie held itself in the headlines for various reasons. It received bashing from some over the allegations of tampering the historical facts, but being based on one of the renowned historical battles might work in attracting the footfalls. Ahead of its release, let’s see how it’s faring in Koimoi’s ‘How’s The Hype?’ section.
Sapna Hai Sach Hai song
Sung by Abhay Jodhpurkar and Shreya Ghoshal, Sapna Hai Sach Hai is composed by Ajay-Atul. This romantic track glimpsed us with the mesmerizing the chemistry between Arjun (Sadashiv Rao) and Kriti (Parvatibai) in the film. It received just about a decent response with 62% voters giving a nod.
Mann Mein Shiva song
It’s quite a refreshing change to hear Kunal Ganjawala’s vocals after a long time. Composed by Ajay-Atul, the song also features voices of Deepanshi Nagar and Padmanabh Gaikwad. The song is a fun watch and gives the periodic vibes nicely. Around 62% people voted in the favour here.
Mard Maratha song
High on vocals and backed by traditional instruments the number has its own pace with high and soothing low notes. While Arjun can be seen on the throne, we get to see Kriti dancing for a bit conveying a message to her husband and warrior Sadashiv Rao. Though an energetic song, it received an underwhelming response of 61% votes.
From the trailer, the movie looks to be a compelling watch with the battle scenes between Arjun and Sanjay being the highlight. Kriti adds the much-required charm with her elegance as Parvati Bai. Despite all quintessential elements, the trailer received mix response, which is reflected in the votes here too with just around 59% netizens liking it.
Before the trailer, the makers set the buzz right by introducing us with the historical characters in the form of solo posters of Arjun Kapoor as Sadashiv Rao, Sanjay Dutt as Ahmad Shah Abdali and Kriti Sanon as Parvati Bai. It fetched around 65% votes.
On the whole, Panipat is enjoying a decent buzz if not the great, with 61% movie buffs giving a THUMBS UP to the movie in our section. Not a mega starter but will surely give a good competition to Kartik Aaryan’s Pati Patni Aur Woh.
