The opening weekend has officially wrapped up for this week’s highly congested box office battle. While Mimoh Chakraborty’s horror vehicle Haunted 3D successfully cornered the mass single screens and Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga enjoyed the multiplex crowd, a highly competitive micro-war has been raging between the two performance-heavy political dramas – Governor and Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata.
The financial thriller led by Manoj Bajpayee and Kangana Ranaut’s high-stakes drama for audience attention over the last three days. By Sunday night, the final weekend numbers revealed a fascinating, tight finish. Kangana Ranaut has managed to maintain her lead over the Bajpayee starrer, but the margin is narrow, separated by exactly 50 lakh!
Governor VS Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata Box Office Day 3
On the third day, Kangana Ranaut’s Bharat Bhaagya Viddhaata showed the more aggressive growth curve of the two over the weekend. It closed its weekend on Sunday with 1.8 crore net in India. This brings its total 3-day opening weekend collection to 4.25 crore. Meanwhile, Manoj Bajpayee’s Governor chose the path of steady consistency. The film kicked off its run with 1.1 crore on Friday, and finished the weekend on Sunday with 1.40 crore. Its cumulative domestic opening weekend stands at 3.75 crore.

While Manoj Bajpayee originally won the opening day battle on Friday, Kangana’s superior momentum on Saturday and Sunday allowed her to move past Governor to capture the weekend crown.
However, neither film can afford to celebrate just yet. With cumulative totals sitting below the 5-crore mark after three days, both projects are entering a defining phase on Monday. Because they rely heavily on word-of-mouth rather than raw mass hysteria, their weekday holds will decide their fates!
