Fukrey actor Varun Sharma and the production house Utsav Entertainment have officially announced their mutual separation from the upcoming action thriller Naam – To Live Is War. The decision comes after detailed discussions between the actor and the producers regarding Varun’s prior professional commitments and tight shooting schedules, which made accommodating the project at this point challenging for both parties.

Official Joint Statement By Varun Sharma & Utsav Entertainment

In an official statement released jointly by Varun Sharma and the makers of Naam – To Live Is War, both parties expressed mutual respect and well wishes for the future. With Varun Sharma stepping away due to date overlaps, the makers at Utsav Entertainment are expected to finalize a replacement for the character shortly before kicking off the schedule of the film.

The actor and the makers share, “We were genuinely looking forward to this collaboration and exploring the opportunity to work together. However, given the existing professional commitments and scheduling considerations, we felt it was best to take a considered and practical decision at this stage. While things may not align this time, we hope to find an opportunity to collaborate in the future when circumstances are more conducive. We wish the entire team the very best and hope the film receives immense love and success.”

Meanwhile, Varun Sharma remains busy with his commitments for theatrical releases across late 2026 and 2027. It would be interesting to see his lineup in the upcoming year. The actor was last seen in the comedy Rahu Ketu, co-starring Pulkit Samrat.

For the unversed, actors Veer Pahariya and Varun Sharma were all set to feature in an action thriller titled Naam – To Live is War with filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt coming on board as the presenter of the film. The film’s name draws inspiration from Mahesh Bhatt’s blockbuster ‘Naam’ (1986), but the similarities end there. ‘Naam – To Live is War’ is not a remake. It is based on an original script by Sidhaanth Sachdev, Suhrita Das, and Shweta Bothra, who have penned it under the creative supervision of Mahesh Bhatt.
