Stranger Things featuring Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, Winona Ryder amongst other is a major success. The show isn’t coming up with 4th season until next year. However, the buzz remains massive. Today, we have a rather unknown trivia to share. Do you know, David Harbour aka Jim Hopper once exited the sets in anger? Below is the scoop you need.
The Netflix teenage drama has a massive yet stellar cast. Be it Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard or someone like Natalie Dyer – these actors have garnered a loyal fan base. But one of them turned out to be a pain in the a*s for David. In fact, he got so annoyed that he left the sets in anger.
Our Jim Hopper himself opened up about it in an interview in 2016. He was quite vocal about the disliking. David Harbour even went onto call his co-star the ‘worst actor.’ Eventually, in order to end conflicts, he was removed from the show. (That’s a hint.)
We’re talking about the mysterious case of Chester. The dog who grabbed a lot of screen space during the Stranger Things’ first season. Remember when Jim Hopper tries to search for the missing Will at his house? The dog keeps barking and directs David Harbour’s character to the shed. Yes, the exact spot where Noah Schnapp’s character is hiding before the Demodrogon takes him to the upside-down.
In an interview with Howard Stern, David shared, “There was a day with this dog that was the worst actor I’ve ever worked with, in my life. […] The dog was just being a jerk. I never — I walked off set. I’ve never done that before. There’s footage of me like throwing a fit, going like, ‘I’m gonna be in my trailer!’ and just storming off. Cause the damn dog wouldn’t do what it was supposed to do. It was just supposed to bark at a thing…And there was a trainer who was off-camera yelling like, ‘C’mon, we gotta make our money, this is how we make our money!’ And I was like, ‘this is weird.’”
Meanwhile, Noah Schnapp revealed about Chester’s fate in Stranger Things. The actor said, “Um, I mean, I don’t know — I mean, I think he died, didn’t he?” Schnapp replied, when asked what happened to Chester. “He did. I mean, I’m sure, you could tell, I guess. In (Season 3) there’s like a grave for him, that you see.”
