Remember the time when Holidays meant a good time watching beautiful content on Doordarshan as kids? You name it, and we had it! Right from The Jungle Book to Alif Laila. However, cinema and theaters in particular had very few options. Over time, nothing much has changed. However, Vaibhav Studios, with their animation film Return of the Jungle, is trying to bring the bachpan back, and this Panchatantra reboot might be something our kids desperately need!

To be honest, Indian animation for kids has been stuck in a loop of Aha Tamatar, and Ek Mota Haathi, and Gen Alpha is obsessed with it! Emmy-nominated animation powerhouse in India, Vaibhav Studios, might just break this streak and offer something fresh and meaningful to this generation of kids!

Return Of The Jungle, with its teaser, looks promising and fun. The teaser hints at a heartwarming, music-driven saga with characters from the jungle, where kids would find it entertaining to associate with the stories of these lovelies from the Animal Kingdom! I mean, we did the same for The Jungle Book, right?

However, the challenge is real. Today’s kids are growing up on high-speed YouTube loops. Can a soul-touching, rooted Indian story grab their attention? Its true test will be the Indian box office on May 29. Interestingly, it is a good hope since Mahavatar Narsimha has been one of the most watched films of 2025 in the theaters, and if animation is actually being loved, then this film might be a hit amongst the kids!

It’s clean, positive, and visually miles ahead of the clunky animation we’ve seen in the past. For a generation that is being fed on repetitive nursery rhymes, right from Aha Tamatar, to Bandar Mama to Ek Mota Haathi, this might be a breath of fresh air!
