Shootout At Wadala, post its first weekend, is causing grave ripples at the Koimoi Top 10 Highest Opening Weekend 2013 List. By culminating to a collection of 30.80 crores in a matter of three days, the film has beaten Akshay Kumar starrer Special 26 on the highest opening weekend list (2013). While Special 26, which was a brilliant con story earned 25.75 crores by the end of its first weekend, Shootout At Wadala easily surpassed the film within three days of its release with its income standing boldly at the 30.80 crores mark.

Resulting from the hullabaloo on the list that this crime thriller starring John Abraham created, Tigmanshu Dhulia’s sequel to the power game story of Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns was evicted out from the Top 10 list.  The film which earned a minimal amount of 12.75 crores by the end of its first weekend got eliminated from the list by virtue of the gritty story Shootout At Wadala provides.

Shootout At Wadala, which is a follow up edition of Balaji’s previous Shootout At Lokhandwala, saw this year’s highest occupancy and earning rate on a non holiday weekend. Though the film might be a little unsuitable for family audiences given its lewd language, it still has seen a stable ascent ever since its release, eyeing greater laurels in the next few weeks to come.
