According to Variety, Captain Mixon, an NYPD homicide captain played by Bokeem Woodbine, joined Dexter: Resurrection as a series regular. In the show, he is a tough, intimidating police officer who oversees investigations into serial murders across Manhattan.
Right now, his position and investigative instincts make him a potential threat to Dexter Morgan, who is trying his best to avoid the law. The character has also developed an important family connection within the show. His daughter, Fiona Mixon, played by Nona Parker Johnson, works as a training officer and has developed a complicated bond with Dexter’s son, Harrison.
Talking about his character in Dexter, in an interview with ComingSoon.net, Woodbine said that the scripts have “subverted my expectations even as a cast member reading them, which kind of kept me on my toes.” With decades of experience and skills, Woodbine is bringing new layers to the on-screen character.
