Billie Eilish Previously Spoke About the Trend of Throwing Objects at Singers
During a 2023 interview with THR, the Grammy winner discussed the trend of throwing items at performers on stage, cautioning fans that it can be dangerous.
She and her brother, Finneas, observed that phones are the most commonly hurled objects, as fans frequently seek to have them capture photos and selfies.
“I’ve been getting hit onstage with things for like, literally, six years,” Eilish said. “It’s absolutely infuriating when you’re up there,” she stressed. “I have mixed feelings about it, because when you’re up there it blows… But you know it’s out of love, and they’re just trying to give you something.”
They went on to caution fans against throwing items at them or any other artist. Eilish ended the discussion by expressing appreciation, saying that while it was very sweet, they should refrain from throwing things onstage.
