Nayanthara’s latest film, Mookuthi Amman 2, has hit theaters. The film is facing tough competition at the box office from Suriya’s Scene and Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana. It is a sequel to Nayanthara’s hit film Mookuthi Amman, which premiered on JioHotstar in 2020. The film’s advance bookings have been unimpressive, and it will need positive word of mouth to gain momentum at the box office.
Mookuthi Amman 2 Advance Box Office
Ahead of its November 6 release, the fantasy comedy film sold 97,939 tickets across 281 cities. It registered 2,193 shows and collected 1.48 crore in first-day advance bookings. While the advance collections surpassed the opening-day collection of Nayanthara’s previous release Hi’s opening-day collection, it is still an underwhelming total.
Nayanthara’s previous release, Hi, earned just 1.25 crore net on its opening day in India. Mookuthi Amman 2 is surely seeing a much-needed improvement over her previous release. The new release is set to record the actress’s second-lowest opening day in 2026. Meanwhile, Nayanthara’s other 2026 releases have had stellar box-office collections. She started the year with Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, followed it up with the Malayalam movie Patriot, then Toxic and Hi.
