Chennai Express has been putting up a stellar show at overseas box office. We had updated the opening weekend’s overseas collections of the film of some circuits earlier. However, by compiling the overall overseas collections, the film made an income of about 50.45 crores in the extended weekend at the Box Office. The film being a Shah Rukh Khan starrer is earning well given his massive fan following the global circuits.

The film is still looking to enter Koimoi’s Top 10 Overseas Collections’ list and going by the film’s pace it won’t be surprising if it can soon elevate its collections to evict Salman Khan starrer Dabangg 2 from the list. SRK who currently has 6 out of 10 films in the Highest Overseas Collections list might even attempt to further the same by adding another film of his and also beat Aamir Khan starrer 3 Idiots‘ lifetime overseas run of $ 25 million globally!

Top 10 Highest-Grossing Bollywood Films In Overseas

  1. Dear koimoi, back in 2009 1 USD was 46 INR. Now 1 USD is 61 INR. 3 Idiots collected 115 cr INR overseas in 2009. So you are saying Chennai Express have to collect more than 152 cr INR now in order to overcome 3 idiots Overseas record ? That is not fair because not all income is coming from USD. So you should say the records in INR instead of USD.

    • There is a flaw in your reasoning. Problem will occur only when u convert dollars into rupees. In foreign countries, people paid in dollars to watch 3 idiots and are paying the same dollars to watch CE. So no problem arises. So the collections in dollars are more accurate than converting it into rupees.

  2. Not in every country people are paying in USD. In UAE its dhirams, in uk its pound and so on. They pay USD only in USA . Rest koimoi converts into INR first then they convert into USD. That is not logical. Hence my point makes sense.
