Twinkle Khanna had a short yet memorable acting career, after she quit acting the actress was still in the limelight. From witty social media posts to interesting columns, the actress has been on the news for more than one reason. Twinkle is also known for her outspoken nature and recalling an incident, the former actress claimed that once a director asked her to ‘do a Mandaikini’ for which she was asked to wear see-through clothes.
Post this instance, the particular director refused to work with the Badshah actress and said he would never meet or work with her ever again.
Twinkle Khanna opened up about the incident during a conversation with the veteran star Waheeda Rehman, on the Tweak India YouTube channel. The Mela star made the revelation after listening to Rehman’s story where she recalled being ill-treated by director Raj Khosla.

Sharing her horrible experience, Twinkle Khanna said, “I also had something similar, but a little more graphic. I was wearing a white kurta, and ready for the quintessential rain song, and the director came with a shawl wrapped around, imitating Guru Dutt. And he says, ‘If I tell you to do a Mandakini, what will you say?’ I said I will say two things. First, I will say ‘no’, and secondly, ‘You’re not Raj Kapoor’.”
Mrs Funnybones author further shared, “He never spoke to me, he never repeated me, and it was horrible.”
Meanwhile, back in 2018, during the launch of her book, she poked fun at her acting career and skills, and claimed she is not proud of her work, “I have not given any hit film. Whatever films I have done should be banned and (no one should watch) it. Most of the time, I pretend I have Alzheimer’s and I don’t remember my film career and it makes me happy that way.”
