Surpasses Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947
With 60.91 crore, Udta Teer has comfortably gone past the lifetime collection of Sunny Deol’s Independence Day release, Batwara 1947 (53.01 crore). Today, on day 11, it is likely to beat The Kerala Story 2 (61.65 crore), which is just 74 lakh away. With Ramayana releasing this Thursday (November 5), crossing The Kerala Story 2 would be the final feat for the film as its run will be severely impacted.
Suffers due to a postponement
For those who don’t know, Udta Teer was initially planned for a release on October 9. However, given the strong response to Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3, which released on October 2, the film was postponed to October 23. This two-week postponement caused significant harm to the film; otherwise, it would have had a chance to perform much better than it did.
