Aamir Khan has broken his tradition of releasing films during Christmas vacation. His Laal Singh Chaddha will be released on Valentine’s Day 2022. The real reason behind leaving the December slot is said to be directors- Rohit Shetty and Kabir Khan.

When Kabir Khan’s 83 was announced for Christmas release, everyone was wondering when will Aamir release his Laal Singh Chaddha. On the next day i.e. last Saturday, Aamir’s production house released a statement stating they are coming on 14th February 2022. Speculations were made on the reason why Aamir backed out of his lucky December period and below could be your answer.

As per Bollywood Hungama’s report, Aamir Khan and co-producers were waiting for theatres in Maharashtra to re-open. However, as soon as the announcements were made, several much-awaited biggies occupied festival dates. Speaking particularly about December, 83 booked the Christmas slot. Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey opted for 31st December. Reportedly, Rohit Shetty too is arriving on 31st December with his Cirkus.

A source close to the portal states, “Aamir Khan and his co-producers Viacom 18 have voluntarily taken their film to February 2022. The Christmas week of 2021 already has Kabir Khan’s 83 (December 24), the Shahid Kapoor sports film Jersey (December 31) and Rohit Shetty’s Ranveer Singh starrer Cirkus (December 31) lined up for release.”

After learning about other Bollywood biggies releasing in December, Aamir Khan reportedly decided to humbly make way for Rohit Shetty and Kabir Khan, who have been waiting for long with their already completed films. Filmmaker Luv Ranjan too thinks that a protocol should be followed in releasing films with paving a way for those who had to wait for long.

Now, if it’s true, that’s really a good gesture coming from Aamir and his team.
