There are several instances where Bollywood movies and actors have been pulled into a legal matter and one such is about Salman Khan’s home production LoveYatri, which released last year. It marked the debut of Aayush Sharma and Warina Hussain.
LoyeYatri was surrounded by clouds of controversies owing to its original title LoveRatri. Many religious groups filed a complaint against the makers including producer Salman Khan, as the LoveRatri resonated Navratri, a Hindu festival spanning over nine nights. Also, the theme of the movie had a backdrop of the festival.
Several criminal complaints were filed against the makers last year. Now, today the Supreme Court has proclaimed that no action will be taken against Salman Khan in the case which was registered for hurting religious sentiments.
Meanwhile, Salman had to change the title of his film “LoveRatri” to “LoveYatri” after a section of people complained. During one of the promotional event in last year, he said that the movie is a “love story” and not a “hate story” and so, they don’t want to hurt people’s sentiments.
Salman interacted with the media with actor Aayush Sharma, Warina Hussain, Ronit Roy, music composer Tanishk Bagchi and singers Udit Narayan, Palak Muchchal, Darshan Rawal and Badshah here on Wednesday.

The right-wing organisation Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) was irked by the earlier title “LoveRatri”, which according to them distorted the meaning of the Hindu festival, Navratri.
Later, a Bihar court ordered an FIR to be lodged against co-producer Salman, saying the title hurts religious sentiments and promotes vulgarity. Makers of the film then changed title of their film from “LoveRatri” to “LoveYatri“.
