Sandeep Reddy Vanga has became one of the most sought-after directors after the success of Kabir Singh. According to some recent reports, it is learnt that Ranbir Kapoor is collaborating with Vanga for a film tentatively titled as Devil. Now, as per the latest reports that are flowing in, Ranbir Kapoor backed off from the project, which is supposed to be a dark thriller, and none other than Baahubali star Prabhas is replacing him.
It is learnt that the South star has given a thumbs up to the project and just an official announcement is awaiting.
The project will be bankrolled T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar.
On the work front, Prabhas was last seen in Sujeeth’s Saaho, which released on 30th August 2019. It earned around 149 crores in its Hindi version. He will be seen in tentatively titled ‘Jaan‘ along with Pooja Hegde.
Meanwhile, makers of Saaho claimed that the movie crossed 400 crores at the global box-office.
“Can you imagine anything getting bigger than this? #Saaho crosses 400 Cr+ at BOs worldwide,” read a tweet on the official handle of the film.
Saaho was Prabhas’s first release after the blockbuster Baahubali series. While the film opened well, it left many fans and the media underwhelmed owing to its lack of a cohesive plot.
The action drama Saaho was shot simultaneously in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil languages, and is rumoured to have been made on a budget of around Rs 350 crore. The film also stars Shraddha Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Jackie Shroff.
