Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely death in June this year has brought to light the drug nexus present in Bollywood. Owing to the investigation of the same, many Bollywood celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh and others were called in for questioning. Recently, Arjun Rampal too, was questioned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the same.
Yesterday, we brought you the news that Arjun Rampal was summoned for the second time. Today, we have got to know that Gabriella’s brother, Agisilaos Demetriades, has been granted bail in the drug case.
As reported by Mumbai Mirror, Agisilaos Demetriades was granted bail by a special narcotics court on Tuesday (December 15). It has been reported that a surety of Rs. 50,000 was paid followed by which the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) court approved the bail.
As further reported, Arjun Rampal’s girlfriend’s brother has been asked to submit his passport and not leave the country without informing the Narcotics Control Bureau.
Talking about Arjun Rampal and his links to the ongoing drug case, it began last month. In November, the NCB raided his Mumbai residence and summoned him and his girlfriend, Gabriella, for allegedly procuring drugs. During a raid conducted on November 10, electronic gadgets like laptops, mobile phones, tablets as well as specific documents were seized. It was also reported that the NCB had questioned Rampal’s driver.
Rampal and Demetriades came under the NCB’s radar after her brother, Agisialos Demetriades was arrested by the NCB, once again. As per reports, drugs like Hashish and Alprazolam tablets were seized from Gabriella’s brother, when he was nabbed from Pune in October. Both substances are illegal under the narcotics law. Agisialos was in touch with Omega Godwin, a Nigerian national who was arrested for the supply of cocaine in Mumbai.
Besides Arjun Rampal and Gabriella Demetriades, the agency recently raided Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s residence in the city. After finding drugs in their home, the two accepting consuming it and were arrested and taken under custody. The duo was later granted bail.
