It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Sacred Games revamped the career of Bollywood Nawab Saif Ali Khan. He won accolades for his performance of Sartaj Singh in the show and post that critical acclaim, the actor bagged several interesting scripts. Apart from those 70 mm projects, Saif was also approached by Ali Abbas Zafar recently, for a web show.
The web show is titled as Tandav, which will be a political thriller and will be helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar. It has a backdrop of caste politics in India.
In a talk with Mid-Day, Saif Ali Khan spoke in detail about the web show. He shared, “It is a show based on politics and is set on a massive scale. I don’t want to use American examples, but it’s along the lines of House Of Cards, [albeit] set within the framework of Indian politics. The plot takes into account various factions like Dalit politics and UP cops and the whole nexus between them.”
He also shared some insights about his characters by stating, “My character is Chanakya-like, in the guise of a youth leader who comes from a privileged background and [aspires to] become the Prime Minister.”
On the work front, Saif Ali Khan will be next seen in Laal Kaptaan, Jawaani Jaaneman, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Bhoot Police.
Speaking specifically about Saif’s character in Laal Kaptaan, he will be portraying Naga Sadhu in the revenge thriller. The movie is directed by Navdeep Singh.
