Malayalam film industry woke up to a shocking news yesterday when they came to know the demolition of sets of actor Tovino Thomas’s next, Minnal Murali. The shoot of the film which was going at a brisk pace had to be put on halt in March because of lockdown.
The Church set for the film which was erected to shoot some important portions of the Minnal Murali’s second schedule, was vandalized on Sunday by right-wing activists.
The activists that vandalized the sets boasted about the incident on Social media and even reasoned their actions by saying that the location of the film set was close to Adi Sankaracharya temple in Kalady.
Various filmmakers and actors have come forward to extend solidarity to Tovino Thomas and the makers of the film. One of many who extended their support was Malayalam superstar Dulquer Salmaan.
Dulquer Salmaan took to his twitter handle, with a tweet that read, “So sorry to hear about this Tovi ! Some don’t seem to realise the effort emotions talent and cost that goes into building and creating something. Supporting you and #sophia ma’am and the rest of the team ! Lots of love.”
