It seems like Tom Holland starrer Spider-Man 3 might be facing a setback. The coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown that followed have effected the filming schedule as well as release dates of many films. As per reports, the production of the third installment of Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man franchise has been delayed by Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios until Winter 2021. Read on to know more.
The film was initially set to release in July 2021, but then Sony pushed the film’s release to November 2021. It was then postponed to its current release date – December 17, 2021. Just like its release date, the filming dates of Spider-Man 3 have also suffered delays.
The production of Spider-Man 3 was initially slated to begin in Summer 2020. However owing to the situation of the time, the production schedule was then rumoured to have been pushed to Fall 2020. And now news of another delay has come from the lead actor, Tom Holland. During a recent interview, the actor said the third
installment was supposed to finish filming by February 2021.

Now, as per a report on The Direct, the production of Spider-Man 3 will finally begin. The portal has learned that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are planning to begin filming the film in Winter 2021. The report further stated the Winter 2021 time will refer to either January or February 2021. It added that filming would most likely be complete by Summer 2021.
This news means the production of the film has suffered another delay after Tom’s interview. On the work front, Tom Holland is currently busy with Sony’s Uncharted.
