The Princess Bride parody, that is up for a June 29 release on Quibi, will now have Game Of Thrones Fame Sophie Turner and husband Joe Jonas in it. The homage to the 1985 classic, will have a long list of celebrities making an appearance, including Hugh Jackman, Josh Gad and Taika Waititi. Read On!
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas, are the new entrants will be playing Westley and Princess Buttercup. The Princess Bride parody is a DIY project and will be shot by the celebrities themselves amid the quarantine.
According to Cosmopolitan, the list includes Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Garner, Elijah Wood, Jon Hamm, Beanie Feldstein, Lucas Hedges, Jenna Ortega, Jack Black, David Oyelowo, Keegan-Michael Key, Patton Oswalt, Josh Gad, Andy Serkis, Diego Luna, Taika Waititi, and Zazie Beetz.
The project that now also stars Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas will be shot by all the actors themselves, under Jason Reitman’s direction. The Princess Bride parody will also raise money for the World Central Kitchen.
“The week that the stay-at-home order came through in California, I just woke up one of the first mornings, I think like most people did, feeling as though, all right, I need to be able to do something of value,” James Reitman told Vanity Fair. “I just thought, ‘Can we remake an entire movie at home?’ And I had seen that a fan-made Star Wars had been done. I just started reaching out to actors I knew, saying, ‘Is this something you’d want to do?’ And the response was kind of immediate and fast. It was like, ‘Oh—that sounds like fun.'”
