Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan Box Office: Ayushmann Khurrana is in his purple patch of the career and nothing can go wrong with him. The actor with every film since Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017), gone a step forward in his career and this film co-starring Jitendra Kumar, is just another feather added to the cap.

As far as the expectations from the trade pundits are to be considered, an opening of 7-8 crores was said to be on the cards for this gay comedy-drama. But yet again, it ‘the Ayushmann Khurrana’ effect that has well converted into footfalls at the ticket windows and surpassed all the expectations.

As per the early trends flowing in, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan has made collections in the range of 9-9.50 crores, which is an appreciable jump even from what was anticipated. The critics’ review remained mixed, but the audience clearly has to say otherwise. Also, one cannot miss out on the fact that the film majorly benefited from the Maha Shivratri holiday, and that remains another reason for this big win.

Even though SMZS is facing competition from Vicky Kaushal’s Bhoot: Part One – The Haunted Ship at the ticket windows, the good thing is that the film is still turning out to be the first choice of the audiences.

Meanwhile, American President Donald Trump lauded Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan on Friday. President Trump’s praise for the film came in the wake of a tweet posted by human rights campaigner and LGBTQ+ activist Peter Tatchells social media post praising the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer.

“A new #Bollywood rom-com featuring a gay romance is hoping to win over older people, following the decriminalisation of homosexuality. Hurrah!” tweeted @PeterTatchell.

To this, @realDonaldTrump tweeted: “Great!”
