First 100 Crore Film
Helmed by AR Murugadoss, and produced by Allu Aravind, Tagore Madhu, and Madhu Mantena, the action film was originally meant for Salman Khan. But he rejected the offer and passed it on to Aamir, who created history by delivering the first 100 crore film in Bollywood. Ghajini collected 114 crore at the box office after opening at 10.20 crore on day 1. It was released in 2008.
First 300 Crore Film
Aamir Khan created history with PK as the first 300-crore film in Bollywood. The film collected 339.50 crore. Next in line to touch the number was Dangal. However, if the sports drama had stayed in the theaters for a little longer, it could have created an uproar as the 1st 400-crore film in India. However, it ended its lifetime run at 387.39 crore at the box office.
100 Crore Collection In A Single Day
While the superstar opened box office opportunities in China, Dangal was the first film to earn around 100+ crore in a single day in China. A record that stays intact!
Highest Opening Despite A Disaster
When Thugs Of Hindostan arrived in 2018, it opened at 52.25 crore, creating a record that was unimaginable. The film roared at the box office; however, it tanked at the same speed, making it the biggest opening ever for a disastrous film.
Biggest Bollywood Film Globally
To date, the global collection of Dangal stands at 1970 crore, and no film has been able to cross this number yet, making it the biggest Bollywood film globally.
Aamir Khan is gearing up with Sitaare Zameen Par while he will be producing Sunny Deol’s Lahore. Hopefully to shatter the old records and make some new ones!
