Mogul, a project that turned into disappointment for many the minute Aamir Khan quit it, and the same project which made million smiles after it came back on track. The route for sure wasn’t easy and the Thugs Of Hindostan actor is revealing about all the actors he approached to play the titular role of Gulshan Kumar.
Aamir Khan revealed all the reasons why he decided to resume the project in a conversation with Hindustan Times. Furthermore, he revealed about how despite offering the roles to actors like Varun Dhawan, Akshay Kumar and others, the role landed in his kitty as destined.
He started off sharing with how he first went to Khiladi Kumar but things couldn’t work out, so he went to the other 2 as he shared, “I offered the film to Varun Dhawan, but he was busy with too many films. The other person I was very keen to cast was Kapil Sharma. I felt he’d pull off the character very well. But that didn’t work out either. Then Bhushan said, ‘You’ve done your best, aap puri duniya ghoom kar aa gaye ho, lekin mere father ka role karna aap hi ko hai. It’s written that you’ll be doing the film’. And the fact is that I love the script, and it’s a great role, so I said yes.”
We’re glad to have Aamir do the movie as Bhushan Kumar himself wanted. Because all’s well that ends well.
Meanwhile, the actor is currently working on Lal Singh Chaddha, which is the official adaptation of Hollywood movie, Forrest Gump.
Lal Singh Chadha is slated for a December, 2020 release.
