Amidst the lockdown, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Brahmastra has been making headlines for several reasons. According to the recent updates, director Ayan Mukerji has sent a huge chunk of footage to a team in London under secrecy to get the special effects done. The filmmaker is hoping to meet the deadline as the film now has been in the making for over 2 years.
According to the reports, Ayan Mukerji in a trial to meet the deadline for Brahmastra, has brought a London based studio on board to do the special effects of the film. Meanwhile, the makers also understand the risk of sharing the footage and the danger of it getting leaked. The team has been taking important precautions for the same.
A source close to the development told Mid-day, “A large portion of the footage has been sent to the London team so that it can begin working on the visual effects in this period. Aware that outsourcing the job and sharing the content can increase the risk of the film being leaked, Ayan wanted only a core team of experts working on it. The director handpicked a five-member team who are the only people in possession of the footage.”
Meanwhile, it was earlier this week when the news that Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have voluntarily decided to take pay cuts as to make Brahmastra possible as the film has massively exceeded the budget. But later producer Karan Johar rubbished the news and called it a rumour. In a tweet clarifying, he wrote, “My hugest request to my media friends not to reach any assumptions on our fraternity films…these are challenging times for the business and false news only makes the situation worse. Please wait for official news on any account!! This is a humble request.”
However, after getting delayed several times, Brahmastra is finally set for December 4, 2020 release. The film directed by Ayan Mukerji also stars Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
