Popular daily soap actor, Hiten Tejwani, who has been a part of some of television’s longest-running shows was also a contestant of the Salman Khan hosted Bigg Boss 11. However, the actor, who has a rather quiet, sensible and mature personality now feels that the show is not meant for people like him.
On occasion of his birthday today, Hiten travels down the memory lane and reminisces about the changing times in terms of how the TV industry functions to his stint in Bigg Boss 11 and then supporting Bigg Boss 13 winner Sidharth Shukla. Opening up about being a vocal supporter of Shukla, Hiten says that Sidharth had an upper hand right from the beginning as he was a popular TV face owing to shows like Balika Vadhu and Dil Se Dil Tak.
Speaking to News 18, Hiten said, “Bigg Boss is not for people like me. Any person who is calm and composed won’t do because they want more out of them to get a reaction at the end of the day. But I will not change overnight for the sake of the show because people know me. I won a lot of hearts and love of people on the show which is the best part.”
Further opening up about being a Sidharth Shukla supporter and how the show helped runner up and model Asim Riaz, who was not very popular, become a household name. “I was always rooting for Sidharth Shukla. He always had an advantage because he was a known TV face. People have known and liked him since Balika Vadhu. Yeah, there were both sides of the coin to him, good and bad, but people voted for him as the winner ultimately. At the end of the day, this is what matters. Nobody knew Asim but now people have started looking at him and liking him. He must have really done great to have earned the runner up title. Now people definitely know Asim, and will know what he does.”
On the professional front, Hiten has been a part of some of television’s most successful shows like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kutumb and Kasautii Zindagii Kay.
