On an exclusive Instagram Live session when asked about the same, she said, “Thankfully till now in life I have never been trolled for the work I have done. Even if there was some, it did not bother. But this time around when there came massive hate, I could not understand why. Just because I have a certain number of following, or I am a public figure, can I not have my opinion? Or just because I have an opinion is it important that I am subjected to so much abuse?”

Further explaining why it affected her so much she added, “It was affecting me because maybe it is very easy for people to write a comment, but when the person reads it obviously you don’t enjoy it. So why I have that opinion or why I attended the rally, if they don’t want to understand that and instead they want to stay in their cage and have their own thoughts, that I can’t control. Plus the people with me were also abused and that affected me the most. So then I realised people are not going to understand so soon, so better I do it. Also I was not going to remove that post, because that it what I believe in. So I decided lets do it.”

On the live session Shweta Tripathi also spoke about the second season of the most anticipated show Mirzapur and how it is in post production. She also opened up on her most loved movie Masaan and it’s reception.
