Karthi is all set to return as Sardar in the sequel to the hit 2022 Tamil film. The actor will be seen in a dual role in the upcoming film, which has the versatile SJ Suryah as the villain. The trailer of Sardar 2 has been unveiled 10 days before the grand theatrical release. The trailer packs in a lot of elements and promises a grand theatrical experience.

Sardar 2 Trailer

The trailer opens with a warning of the nation being under threat. The authorities speak about bringing an agent on board. We are then shown a happy-go-lucky young Karthi who is leading a temple festival. When he gets summoned, he gives up his role at the festival and heads for the mission. We get to know that he is a spy and his identity is hidden from his family as well. He is portrayed as a trainee who must take on a mission where crores of lives are at stake. We see him regretting the price of victory. He parts ways, thinking that something like this will never happen again.

But Bose steps out of retirement when a threat in the form of SJ Suryah looks in. The trailer can be divided into two parts: in the first half, we see a young Karthi on a spy mission; in the second, we see a more confident, older Bose who returns to save the country once again. Unlike his younger version, he comes across as fearless, confident, and more powerful.

Bose will be accompanied by his son, who is also played by Karthi. It will be interesting to see Karthi in power-packed dual avatars on screen. SJ Suryah as the villain steals the limelight as he plays the daunting evil force. The actor has played the villain in multiple films and yet manages to deliver goosebumps with his voice modulation and killer expressions.

A Two-Part Trailer For Sardar 2?

The second half of the trailer also gives hope that the theatre will erupt with massive stunt sequences. The BGM by Sam CS also works big time in the trailer. The music integrates the high-octane action moments while also highlighting the protagonists’ faith in God. The festival background only enhances the trailer’s visual appeal. If the recent example of DC is something to go by, Sam CS’s music might also elevate the theatrical experience of the film, just like Aniudh did for Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film.

All in all, the trailer looks like an action-heavy film made specifically for the theatrical experience. It will be a war of strategies and physical combat between SJ Suryah and the two Karthis. Just like the previous installment, this one might also seem to feature a flashback moment, as hinted at by the trailer’s first half.
