So all of us remember that poem: “Wo khoon kaho kis matlab ka jisme ubaal ka naam nahi, wo khoon kaho kis matlab ka aa sake desh ke kaam nahi?” It is a verse from a powerful Hindi poem, Khooni Hastaakshar, written by a Hindi poet, Gopal Prasad Vyas. The poem is written as a first-person account, with its protagonist as Subhash Chandra Bose! Coming to Subhash Chandra Bose, he introduces Prabhas as Fauzi in the first glimpse of the period drama! Confused? Sounds like I am blabbering? Well, I am as confused as I am watching this first glimpse!
Now do not get me wrong, I was intrigued by the grand scale of a World War II-era period canvas where Prabhas returns to a raw, intense historical combat zone. But in what world do we introduce a man by Subhash Chandra Bose himself? Well, the teaser blends real-world figures Adolf Hitler and Subhash Chandra Bose to talk about their fictional hero, Fauzi!
It is kind of a tonal whiplash! The historical timelines are too confusing, and the international wartime diplomacy looks too intense and intellectual to call this a glimpse of a film! Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, this first glimpse immediately transports audiences back to the turbulent era of World War II. The clip sets a dramatic historical tone right from the opening frames, featuring a tense conversation in Berlin involving Adolf Hitler and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose regarding British oppression in India.

As the narrative unfolds, Netaji introduces his trusted soldier – a rebel who has secret codes inspired by the Bhagavad Gita! And then, we finally see the Rebel Star in 1932, trying to load a huge machine gun or something like that! He is introduced as a lone, fearless rebel warrior, locking and loading heavy artillery while delivering a chilling spin on Netaji’s iconic slogan, Tum mujhe khoon do main tumhe azaadi dunga!
Prabhas’s Fauzi says, “Abbe O Firangi, Main Tera Khoon Lunga Aur Azaadi Bhi.” The glimpse closes. For fans who have been waiting to see Prabhas step away from futuristic sci-fi or mythological films, this might serve as a palate cleanser. However, I am totally confused looking at this glimpse! So confused that nothing registered!
Hanu Raghavapudi is known for weaving deeply emotional, sweeping love stories against expansive historical backdrops (as in Sita Ramam, but Fauzi clearly pushes him into historical and geopolitical action-thriller territory. Visually, the teaser shines with blood-soaked Prabhas, but the sheer ambition of this glimpse left me confused!
Ultimately, the first glimpse of Fauzi successfully achieves its primary mission: it grabs your attention by the collar and refuses to let go. While the ambitious mixing of real-world history and a commercial mass hero leaves room for curiosity despite the confusion, Prabhas’ magnetic screen presence and the promise of a massive period spectacle make it one of the most anticipated releases scheduled for March 19, 2027.
