Taylor Swift is currently one of the biggest stars across the globe, and her popularity is unimaginable. The pop star is still entertaining her fans on the Eras Tour, but an unfortunate incident has happened lately that has tarnished the image of Swift’s father, Scott Swift. The incident took place at the end of Tay’s concert tour in Australia. Keep scrolling for more.
As parents, Scott and Andrea Swift have always supported Taylor’s dreams. From listening to her sing karaoke to driving her to local gigs near her hometown in Pennsylvania, Andrea and Scott have done it all. For the unversed, Scott is stockbroker-turned-vice president for Merill Lynch. After Tay’s birth in 1989, the couple welcomed their second child and her brother, Austin, in 1992. Taylor and her family were recently seen together cheering for her beau, Travis Kelce, at this year’s Super Bowl game a few days ago.
Fathers tend to get more protective when it comes to their baby girls, and in this case, Taylor Swift is an icon, and it seems her dad went a little bit overboard by allegedly assaulting a photographer. According to a Page Six report, Tay’s dad, Scott, reportedly attacked a 51-year-old Australian photographer, Ben McDonald, at a ferry wharf on Sydney’s North shore. The NSW Police Force had confirmed it on Monday. The media outlet was told that the incident occurred around 2.30 am on Tuesday morning. An investigation has also been launched against Scott.

The victim, Ben, told Daily Mail that Scott and Taylor Swift were out partying, and her father charged at the photographer after they got off their yacht. Ben recalled, “She got off the boat, she walked towards security guards who were shoving umbrellas in our faces, and then he charged.” Ben says that he did nothing to provoke him, but somehow, Tay’s father decided that he needed to defend his daughter, so he struck the paparazzo on the left side of his face.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift’s rep told Page Six that two people were aggressively pushing their way toward the Grammy-Winner, grabbing at her security personnel and also threatening to throw a female staff into the water.
On the work front, Taylor’s concert tour, The Eras Tour, is still ongoing and will end on December 8, 2024.
