The past three months have been quite a disaster for entire mankind across the globe following COVID-19. Things are getting from bad to worse with each passing day. The number of Coronavirus cases is on the rise in various countries. Millions of people have been left jobless following pandemic and are struggling to meet their basic needs due to the financial crisis. The latest we hear is popular Hollywood screenwriter Charles Randolph is all set to pen down a script for a film based on the current situation.
Yes, you read it right! Charles Randolph will be making a film based on COVID-19 and he won’t be just penning down the script, but will also be helming the film. The yet to be titled film that will be shot in China and other international locations, will be bankrolled by SK Global along with Charles.
As per a report from PTI, the film will examine “the dramatic weeks in China as the heroic medical community confronts a mysterious virus, soon to become a global pandemic.”
In an interview to deadline.com, SK Global co-CEO’s John Penotti and Charlie Corwin said, “Charles takes us through an electrifying and revealing drama all of us are living through. His vivid storytelling and insights are at the heart of this narrative. We couldn’t be more pleased to support his vision and directorial debut.”
Talking to the same portal, Charles Randolph said, “I’m very happy to be working with everyone at SK Global to get this right. The deeper we dig, the richer the story of Wuhan becomes. It’s one thing to fight a monster. It’s another thing to fight a monster in the dark.”
With the yet to be titled project based on COVID-19, Charles Randolph will also be making his debut as a director. The star cast of the film is yet to be announced by the makers.
