Content creator and movie critic BlakeKoala wrote, “#Clayface Is one of not just the best Horror movie of the year it is DC’s best film to date! The mix of body horror and romance and moments where you have no idea to either cheer, feel sympathetic or to be completely disgusted by Clayface this movie is going to let you leave the theater in awe.”
Brandon Davis of The Brandon Davis Show said, “#Clayface is freakishly awesome. Watkins makes an unsettling Gotham and gets very creative with Clayface’s abilities. Gruesome, dark moments and twisted ideas at play. Tom Rhys Harries is a star, literally in the movie and for his performance. Dude kills it. Well done by all.”
Another critic, Jenna Anderson, writes, “#Clayface completely blew me away. It’s disgusting, inventive, and astonishingly funny and earnest. It slots into the DCU so effortlessly. You owe it to yourself to see it in a theater filled with other people’s reactions.”
Peter Gray, a RT certified critic wrote, “#Clayface has that comic book flair but that theatricality doesn’t diminish how BRUTAL it is! Dark, violent, with little levity to offset the nastiness, this is an exciting addition to Gunn’s DCU. Tom Rhys Harries brings equal boyish charm and quiet menace to the role.”
Movie, comic, anime lover Conor wrote, “#clayface is everything you want from a villain led movie. No more anti hero Bs, DC understands that tragic Villains can exist. I was harsh with Lanterns and Supergirl so I went into this movie excited, but nervous. This movie reminds you why Batman villains are different.”
Twitch streamer Just Alexx said, “#Clayface is a MASSIVE step for DC Studios. It’s gross, it’s scary, and it’s a FANTASTIC entry. Tom Rhys Harries is awesome as Clayface, and I hope we get to see more DC villains getting their spotlight in the future!!!”
ELBRANDU said, “#Clayface is one of the absolute best movies in all of DC. A grotesque and disturbing body horror bet that proves the DCU can deliver great stories without relying on standard superhero cinema.”
Tomatometer-approved critic Shahbaz • The Movie Podcast said, “#CLAYFACE: the body horror and Tom Rhys Harris’s performance are genuinely excellent, but the story and some bizarre choices make this an odd third entry for a DCU still finding its identity. There’s a lot to love here, even if not all of it works.”
ScoobertOnFilm adds, “#Clayface is the best DCU film since Supergirl. Gunn’s vision of Gotham is unlike anything we’ve seen before. It’s dark, gritty, and contains the scariest scenes I’ve ever seen in a movie before. This is a big one. The reaction to who Aaron Paul is playing will break the internet.”
Realjtlopez said, “#clayface is very reminiscent of them early universal monster movies and i love that about it. it also takes what we love about the feat of clay episodes in btas but tells it in a modern refreshing way that i feel will connect with audiences. this film will surprise people!”
