Avengers: Endgame is the last film in which Chris Evans played the role of Steve Rogers aka Captain America. The Knives Out actor said if often that his journey with Marvel Cinematic Universe has come to an end for good. It’s a hard truth to digest for fans, but it will be the same until Chris himself changes his mind and returns to MCU.
In the climax of his 2019 worldwide blockbuster, we saw Chris Evans character Steve Rogers aka Captain America giving up his superpowers when he goes back in time to place the infinity stones. That twist shocked a lot of his fans. When Steve returns to present time to meet his fellow superheroes, he’s an old Captain America. Everyone was taken for a surprise but Evans’ mom cried watching him in that look and the reason is interesting.
In an interview with Esquire, Chris’ mother Lisa revealed that she had burst into tears when she saw old Captain America in the climax scene of Avengers: Endgame. And he reason for the same? It’s because Evans represented his late grandfather in that look. Well, that’s quite a sweet reason!
Meanwhile, Lisa also revealed that the Before You Go actor was initially not ready to take up the role of Cap for Marvel as he feared that he will lose his anonymity. However, she convinced him to take up the role and we finally got the talented actor playing one of the best Avengers in Marvel films.
Along with Chris, Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man’s journey with MCU also ended as his character sacrificed himself in Endgame to save the world. However, there are reports that Robert will reprise his role in Black Widow and Spider-Man 3. But there is no official confirmation about this yet.
