Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani after becoming the highest opener of 2013 has set some newer records at the domestic box office. The film after the conclusion of its first Monday earned 13 crores, taking its 4 days domestic total to 75.11 crores at the Box Office.
With that the Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone starrer has enhanced the stature of stars too. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani has beaten superstars’ films in a matter of days. It crossed the collections of Sajid Khan’s Himmatwala starring Ajay Devgn in two days flat. By the end of its third day it had beaten the collections of Anil Kapoor and John Abraham starrer Shootout At Wadala‘s income. In four days, the film surpassed the money raked up by Akshay Kumar’s Special Chabbis (26) too. By defeating all the top superstars of Bollywood, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani has crashed all previous box office records of 2013.

So far, it was Aashiqui 2 that was garnering all the praises but now Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani has emerged as an able competitor to beat both Aashiqui 2 and Special Chabbis. Not undermining the achievements of Aashiqui 2, since the film has so far recorded the highest Return on Investment of any Bollywood film in 2013, YJHD is meant to escalate the charts further.
The film is now eyeing to topple Saif Ali Khan starrer 102 crore revenue raking Race 2. Going by the pace of YJHD, the incomes of the film that have come splurging should be able to attain the 100 crore mark by the end of its first week itself!

tuesday wont break dabbang 2s record as i remember tuesday was a holiday.. done remember why but it was a holiday
don worry people more movies to come this year to break this record, once upon a time in mumbai again, krish, dhoom 3, boss, etc
i think a lot of people are under estimating ranirs star power. i see comments like.. arre isne 20 crore cross kiya tho us actor ka 30 crore karega.. halwa hai kya??
just to give a sample of ranbirs star power, picture this in the first 5 days of the box office, ett, dabanng 2 and yjhd are in the same zone but has any one forgot that for ett it was a huge holiday weekend and for dabbang 2 tuesday was a holiday. this is comparing ranbirs movies with the biggest star currently. this will give you an idea..
dhoom 3 yesss definitely, krissh maybe.. but once upon a time in mumbai again, boss.. crazy???? no way.. akshays last full fledged masala film which earned the best was rowdy rathore and even that earned 15.1 crores on day 1… akshay still doesnt have that crowd pull to consistently cross 20 crore(heck he hasnt done it even once).. the only actors who have crossed 20 crore in a single day collection are salman(opening day for ett and dabbang 2), srk(2nd day for ra.one), hrithik(opening day) and now ranbir(sunday).
You are definitely an Akki hater…….dun be biased dude…….He is one of d biggest superstar country has seen…….ranbir is hot favourite today no doubt……….but pls do not take anything away from self made akki………let akki do One movie per year you will see difference n know that his star power is far more than ranbir and khans
Sameer, what is wrong if Ranbir is the top actor and not Khans? u have personal issue with RK or what? if u have some personal agenda then better u forget it as we indians know it now what u r trying to do. only some south indians watch these khan movies. dhobhi ghat, jab tak hai jaan and talaash etc were all flop in north india.
Amazing movie…. It deserves more….
