Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have been hot topics on social media this week. The release of their film Ranabaali and their appearance on Koffee With Karan mark two major joint appearances for the couple since their marriage. The film also marks their on-screen reunion after seven years. The two actors were previously seen together in Dear Comrade and Geetha Govindam.

The period drama, directed by Rahul Sankrityan, had a slow start at the box office. It recorded one of the lowest opening-day collections of Vijay Deverakonda‘s career. The film failed to pick up momentum during its opening week as well.

More About Ranabaali

Director Rahul Sankrityan describes Ranabaali as an alternate-history drama, meaning it takes historical elements and reimagines how events could have unfolded differently. The film is set against the backdrop of a 19th-century famine in southern India under British rule. Vijay plays a fictional character who also serves as the savior of his people.
