Mom Box Office Day 4 (China): The movie which stars Sridevi, Sajal Aly, Nawazuddin Siddiqui & Akshaye Khanna released in China last Friday and is doing great at the box office.
After an impressive Sunday which garnered collections of $2.10 million, the movie added another $1.02 million to its kitty. Now the total collections stand at $7.02 million which is equal to 49.41 crores. The movie is just at the edge and all set to cross the 50 crore mark. Celebration time!
The movie debuted on 4th position at the China box office and reported better opening than Ayushmann Khurrana’s AndhaDhun, which was released last month.
Mom was released across 38,500 screens in China by Zee Studios International and is directed by Ravi Udyawar. Sridevi is shown as a courageous mother who brings justice to her step-daughter (played by Sajal Aly) who was gang-raped.
The veteran actress won the Best Actress National Award posthumously for her role.
Sridevi came to the big screen after almost 5 years of the release of English Vinglish and performed brilliantly and garnered praised all around. She was last seen in a cameo role in Zero starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. The veteran passed away on February 4th, 2018.
Boney Kapoor who is the producer of the movie as well as the husband of late actress got emotional at the release of Mom in China theatres and said, “MOM is very close to our hearts and we are very overwhelmed to witness the love the film is receiving in China… At such occasion, I wish Sri was here to see the huge success her film has garnered.”
