Soori’s Mandaadi has been the top choice for Tamil audiences since its release on September 10. Despite a clash with Sardar 2, Mandaadi stormed past the Karthi starrer in theaters. In less than a week, the film crossed the 100 crore milestone. The film has had a very limited release overseas, and the majority of its revenue comes from the domestic box office alone. Now, Soori’s film is giving tough competition to films of Dhanush and Suriya.
How Much Did Mandaadi Earn At The Box Office In 13 Days?
The Tamil sports drama has stormed the opening weekend, which easily pushed the film’s collection beyond the 50 crore mark in the opening week itself at the domestic box office. On its 2nd Tuesday, the film earned 1.9 crore net in India against 3,400 screens. The film’s total net collection stands at 79.9 crore at the box office, which equals 94.28 crore gross. Overseas, the film has grossed 15.85 crore, bringing the film’s worldwide total to 110.13 crore.

Soori Leaves Behind Dhanush & Suriya
Soori started playing lead characters only post-COVID, with Viduthalai Part 1 being his first. Before that, he was known as the comic relief in films. Now, he is not just a lead but is giving tough competition to tier 1 actors in the industry. In Tamil Nadu, Mandaadi has earned a total of 67.05 crore in just 13 days. According to trade, Mandaadi has now surpassed every Suriya film in Tamil Nadu except Karuppu. Similarly, it has crossed every Dhanush film’s earnings in the state except Raayan.

While Suriya and Dhanush have big grossers at the box office, the total collections of most of their films from Tamil Nadu now trail Mandaadi. Karuppu was a major success for Suriya. The film earned 158.03 crore in Tamil Nadu alone, while Dhanush’s Raayan earned 74.07 crore there. Mandaadi is on track to surpass Raayan. With that, he will have left behind every Dhanush film at the state box office.
