Jailer 2 loses over 3,800+ shows due to new releases
Due to several new films releasing today, the Jailer sequel’s show count has been affected to some extent, but the overall number is still good. For the first Friday, the Kollywood action-comedy thriller has 13,783 shows scheduled across the country. Compared to the opening day’s 17,615 shows, it has dropped by 3,832. However, such a drop doesn’t matter much, as all eyes will be on occupancy.
Grosses over 15 crore through day 2 advance bookings!
Coming to the day 2 advance booking update, Jailer 2 sold 8.36 lakh tickets (excluding blocked seats) before the first show started. In terms of collections, the film grossed a solid 15.24 crore at the Indian box office through the second-day advances. In net collections, it equals 12.92 crore. It’s a really good number after coming off a massive Thursday start.

Among states, Tamil Nadu leads with 7.85 crore gross, followed by Kerala at 2.41 crore gross. Karnataka is third with 1.56 crore gross. Among cities, Chennai dominates the charts with 3.73 crore gross, followed by Bengaluru with 1.34 crore gross.
Set for a strong hold
Although advances have dipped from day 1’s 37.6 crore gross, there’s nothing to worry about, as it’s a normal trend. Jailer 2 registered a superb start of almost 60 crore net, and today, since it’s a regular working Friday, a dip in collections is on the cards. However, the dip won’t be huge; walk-ins for evening and night shows are expected to be strong, since word of mouth is mostly in favor. So, the Rajinikanth starrer is all set for another strong day at the Indian box office.
