According to Box Office Mojo, Aliens collected $131.1 million in its lifetime at the worldwide box office. It was released in 1986 and was the second film in the Alien franchise. The second film, Terminator 2, also directed by Cameron, became the highest-grossing film of 1991, the year it was released. Therefore, Godzilla Minus Zero could beat Aliens’ $131.1 million global haul with little challenge, but beating Terminator 2’s $518.9 million could be challenging for the Japanese movie. However, it has a strong buzz and solid ratings, which could make it possible.
