Teraa Surroor has sailed through at the Box Office. After a decent opening day, the film saw an increase in collections by Sunday. What worked in favor of the film was the hold that it managed to show over the weekdays, which ensured that the collections comfortably went past the 10 crore on Wednesday itself. With 11.38 crores coming in, the film has now managed to earn well theatrically as well.
As has been declared by the makers, the film’s low costs (around 11 crore) were already recovered through sales of various rights, and the theatrical revenue has ensured further profits. As a result, everyone in the supply chain – be it the producers, distributors or the exhibitors – has made money. The film is a plus affair for all, hence ensuring a win-win situation for all. For a film made in quick time and quick budget, Himesh Reshammiya can well be expected to grin from ear to ear with Teraa Surroor.
Jai Gangaajal hung to well to some extent in its second week as it brought in around 7 crore* more. The film currently stands around 37.5 crore* and would eventually wrap up under the 40 crore mark. A coverage affair.
On the other hand Neerja is now inching towards the 75 crore mark. The film had another good week and has now brought in 73.07 crore theatrically. While the film is already a Superhit, it could well earn a Blockbuster tag for itself if it manages to have a further bountiful run in weeks to come. The film has already crossed Entertainment [72 crore] and equaled Raaz 3 [73 crore]. The film’s next two targets are Singh Is Kinng [74 crore] and Welcome [75 crore].
* Final numbers awaited
