2018 has been one of the most economical years for Bollywood, clearly proving why content is the new king with projects like Padmaavat, Sanju and the last super-hit, Simmba. This year is now continuing the legacy and the first half have been mammoth in itself with impressive projects like Uri: The Surgical Strike, Kabir Singh which went onto impress us way beyond expectations.
While 2018 saw 25 movies releasing in the first half of the year, it started on a bang with Padmaavat and followed by the highest-grossing movie of all time, Sanju. We witnessed as many as 5 super-hit releases and 7 hit movies. The remaining may not have been as much successful, but that period overall has been impressive. The box office numbers in total raked onto become a whopping total of 1804.23 crores.
