Zayed Khan began as a national heartthrob after his stint as Lucky aka Laxman Prasad Sharma in Main Hoon Na. He went on to deliver quite a few hits with films like Anjaana Anjaani and Dus. However, Zayed’s fame was short-lived and was soon followed by a slew of flops. But now, his father and veteran actor Sanjay Khan has taken it upon himself to relaunch his son.
The film that Zayed Khan will make his comeback with is being touted as a war drama. Sanjay Khan has revealed that the film is a biopic on the life of war hero Brigadier Mohammad Usman, who is a martyr of the 1947 Indo-Pak war.
Opening up about his decision to relaunch Zayed Khan, Sanjay Khan has been quoted by Mid-Day saying, “He is one of the most handsome actors in the film industry. As a father, it is my duty to make a film for him. The audience will rediscover him in the movie.”
Sanjay Khan, who has established himself not just as an actor but also a successful director, further added, “I am working hard on the script because I want to make it as authentic as possible. I want to depict the Indian Army’s bravery, and how they fought despite not being armed with sufficient artillery and equipment.”
Meanwhile, for the unversed Zayed Khan made his debut with Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne in 2003. But it was Farah Khan’s Main Hoon Na which gave the actor unprecedented fame. Zayed comes from a film family with his uncle Feroz Khan who is considered a Bollywood veteran.
