Everyone is waiting to see Akshay Kumar play a different character in Raghava Lawerence’s Laxmmi Bomb. The film has been in the news for many reasons including its EID clash with Salman Khan’s Radhe, and then its digital release on Disney Plus Hotstar.
While earlier reports suggested that the movie will premiere on Akshay’s birthday, September 9, it seems like there is a delay now and that too by a few months. But why is there a delay? Speculations are rife that the delay is to avoid backlash on social media. A source close to the team rubbished these rumours and spoke about the actual reason behind the delay.
Talking about the push in the release date of Laxmmi Bomb, a source told Bollywood Hungama, “Why would Akshay Kumar fear a backlash? He is among the most loved actors of Bollywood today. Rather, the reason for delay is more on the technical front. On seeing the final edit, Raghava Lawerence and his team felt the need to shoot for some patchwork scenes for continuity purposes and following Akshay’s approval, they decided to shoot at a studio this month.”

The source continued, “It is just a brief two day shoot with some character actors for the post-climax scenes, which is more on the humourous side. Akshay won’t be a part of the patchwork,”
The source further added that another reason for the delay is the visual effects of Laxmmi Bomb. The post-production has taken longer than expected given the team is working from different locations across the country.
The source added that the trailer of Laxmmi Bomb is ready and a trailer launch was planned for August 18. But with the director requesting an additional two-day shoot, we will have to wait a while longer to see some snippets of the film. This isn’t the first time scenes are being reshot for the Akshay Kumar starrer. Some climax and pre-climax were reshot in February this year after the makers had wrapped up the shoot in November.
